DuPage County

Real estate in Elmhurst, IL.

A close-in DuPage city with a university, a busy York Street downtown and an active teardown-and-rebuild market.
A two-story suburban house with an attached two-car garage and a wide front lawn.

Elmhurst

Elmhurst is the first real DuPage city heading west, close enough to O'Hare and the city to behave a little like both. The downtown around York Street is one of the more built-up in the county, and the UP-West station sits in the middle of it.

A large share of what sells here is new construction on an old lot. That makes land value an explicit part of the conversation on both sides of a trade, and it is worth understanding before you price either one.

What the housing looks like

  • New-construction rebuilds on established lots
  • Period houses and bungalows on the older streets
  • Townhomes and condominiums near the station
