Glen Ellyn has a rolling, wooded feel that most of DuPage does not, and a downtown directly against the Metra platform. Lake Ellyn sits near the center of the older part of the village.
The housing near the lake and the station is older, larger and tightly held; the newer sections to the west and south are more conventional subdivision stock. Those two markets price very differently.
