DuPage County

Real estate in Lombard, IL.

A mid-county village on the UP-West line, known for its lilacs and for a deep stock of affordable post-war housing.
A single-story post-war ranch house with a picture window and a large shade tree in the front yard.

Lombard

Lombard is one of the more accessible ways into DuPage County. The housing is largely post-war, the lots are a decent size, and the UP-West station anchors a small downtown.

Because so much of the stock was built in the same two decades, the condition of the mechanicals and whether a kitchen has been touched since the 1980s tend to decide what a house is worth.

What the housing looks like

  • Post-war ranches, Cape Cods and split-levels
  • Georgians and colonials on standard subdivision lots
  • Townhomes and condominiums along the arterials
