Cook County

Real estate in Berwyn, IL.

A near-west suburb known for block after block of brick bungalows, on the BNSF line into Union Station.
A quiet suburban street under mature trees, with a low house set back behind the curb.

Berwyn

Berwyn is one of the densest concentrations of brick bungalows anywhere in the Chicago area, laid out on a tight grid with alleys, garages and mature parkway trees. It has a real downtown, a Metra stop and a short run into the city.

It is also one of the near-west suburbs where a bilingual agent is genuinely useful — a large share of the buying and selling here happens in Spanish.

What the housing looks like

  • Brick bungalows, many with dormered attics
  • Two-flats and small apartment buildings
  • Georgians and Cape Cods near the Metra stations
